About me
Hello! I am Youssef Idlahsen, a Cloud Computing Specialist from Morroco. As a Cloud Computing Specialist, I design, deploy, and manage applications, services and infrastructure on cloud platforms. I am passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest technology developments.
My interest in computers started at a very young age, and I was very eager to learn as much as I could about them. I've always had an interest in solving complex technical challenges, but now I'm working with large-scale data sets and experimenting with emerging cloud technologies and services.
Since a young age, I have always possessed a strong fascination for computers and technology. The intriguing world of technology has always piqued my interest and I have been eager to learn as much as possible about it, soaking up knowledge like a sponge. One of my earliest forays into computer technology was the creation of game servers, starting with Minecraft and gradually advancing to more complex ones. The feeling of being able to build and control my own virtual world was exhilarating, and I spent countless hours tinkering and perfecting my setups. As I grew older, my love for servers grew and I started delving deeper into the technicalities of server administration. The challenge of finding new and innovative ways to improve my servers kept me engaged and motivated, and I soon became known in my community for my expertise in this area.
After this, I became more and more interested in Cloud computing and Information Systems and began to find resources to learn more about it. I read through a lot of documentation and articles. The first programming language I learned was Python, and from there, I also learned HTML, CSS and a little bit of C++. In addition to working with programming languages, I have also experimented with web servers and databases and have found that MySQL is my favorite so far. I have also used PostgreSQL and Supabase few time. Even this website's static data comes from Supabase.
In addition to my work, I also enjoy writing on my blog and on DEV as well. While I don't currently have much time or interest in playing video games. But, I'm still developing high-availability, low latency and reliable servers in my free time.
If posed with the question of my stack preference, I would choose:
- Cloud Computing Platforms - AWS, Azure
- Operating System - Debian GNU/Linux
- Network Software Emulator - GNS3
- Framework - Next.js
You can do anything you can think of with these things. Debian Linux is a powerful operating system based on the Linux kernel that offers stability, security, and customization, making it an excellent choice for servers, desktop computers, and embedded systems.
I have a deep passion for my work and derive both satisfaction and challenge from each project I undertake. Feel free to check out my portfolio. If you have any questions or are interested in working with me, you can send me a mail at youssef@idlahsen.me.
